Board Members

SCR Foundation Bylaws state the Board must have at least three and no more than fifteen directors. The actual number depends on the availability of qualified candidates and the Board’s workload. Responsibilities are shared fairly, and directors may serve in more than one role if needed. For example, a Corresponding Secretary who sends donation acknowledgment letters might also act as the Secretary who organizes meetings and maintains records.

Board Position Descriptions

Each Board director creates a position description outlining their duties and how they carry them out. These descriptions are reviewed to ensure clarity and avoid overlap, and are made available to all Board members and potential candidates to help explain responsibilities.

Corporate Records

The Secretary manages official Foundation documents, including Board position descriptions. Financial records are maintained by the Secretary or Treasurer, according to SCR Foundation’s Records Retention Policy. To help future volunteers continue key tasks, the Secretary also keeps Institutional Files—how-to guides and templates for common duties like donor letters, Bingo event scripts, and inventory tracking.

Institutional Files

Institutional Files are detailed reference documents that explain how recurring tasks are managed. These include thank-you letter templates, Bingo event checklists, and instructions for updating loan equipment inventories.
