The SCR Foundation Home Maintenance Program provides limited, volunteer-based home maintenance support for Sun City Roseville residents. Services are intended for small, non-urgent tasks and do not replace professional handyman or contractor services.

How It Works
The Home Maintenance Program operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you submit your request, a volunteer will call you when available. No appointments are scheduled in advance.

Choose one of the following methods:
Fill out a paper form at the Timber Creek Lodge monitors’ desk
Leave a message at (916) 774-9040. A volunteer will return your call.
Please consult The Courier or Sun Senior News for advertisements for handyman services that are available in the neighborhood.
*Please note that private handyman services will charge you for their work.
Services Offered
The Home Maintenance Program operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you submit your request, a volunteer will call you when available. No appointments are scheduled in advance.
primary services
These are commonly requested and regularly provided:
- Replace smoke detectors (chirping only; replaced with 10-year models)
- Replace carbon monoxide detector batteries
- Replace standard light bulbs (you provide specialty bulbs)
- Replace or clean air filters (you supply the filter)
- Program or reset HVAC thermostats (includes battery replacement)
- Set or reset irrigation timers
- Remove eligible electronic or medical waste*

secondary services
Provided based on volunteer availability and skill:
- Lubricate garage door (except chain/screw types)
- Minor plumbing (e.g., sink stoppers, toilet handles—resident must provide parts)
- Minor electrical (e.g., reset breakers, replace faulty switches)
- Reset garage door controls
- Move light furniture
- Hang lightweight wall art (resident provides hangers)
- Miscellaneous small tasks
Guidelines
- Sun City Roseville resident volunteers perform all work
- Services are limited in scope and availability
- Volunteers may decline requests that exceed their skill level or program limitations
- If your need is urgent or extensive, please contact a licensed handyman or contractor
Electronic & Medical Waste Disposal
We accept small electronic and medical items for safe disposal. Residents are responsible for erasing all personal data before pickup. We are not liable for any information left on devices.
Accepted Items:
- VCRs, DVD players, CPUs, phones, cameras, keyboards, printers, radios
- SHARPS (in lidded containers only)
Items Not Accepted:
- TVs
- Kitchen or laundry appliances
- AC units, heaters, or thermostats
- Plastic household waste

Thanks to your generous donations, our volunteer team operates with a new maintenance van, improving service reliability and safety. To submit a donation, please fill out our donation form and return it in one of the following ways:
- Place your cash gift or check in an envelope today and hand it to your service volunteer (Preferred)
- Deliver to the Activities Desk at the Timber Creek Lodge, or
- By U.S. Mail (PO Box 819, Roseville, CA 95678)
