March is a time of change. We move from darker days into a time of increased light and activity. We plant and plan for new growth. We want to share some of what we have been working on and how these projects have turned into Resources for residents.
As there is a lot of program information to share, this is Part 1 of 2, to be completed in the April Courier. Programs we will be partnering with are Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center and Senior’s First for Meals on Wheels and Placer Rides. Both are designated programs by the CA Department of Aging (aging.ca.gov). The Board has vetted them and have entered into MOU’s (Memo’s of Understanding) with each of these three resources.
As mentioned in the February Courier, we are partnering with Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center. They provide comprehensive caregiver services for caregivers who become their clients. Their services include Education through specialized information and training, Support groups, Case management and Respite. They can also provide short term Counseling and Legal/Financial Consultation. There are no income requirements or charges for any of their services. All personal information is guided by HIPPA. The first step to receive services is to call for a Phone Assessment at (916) 728-9333; or to contact them through www.deloro.org. Make sure to let them know you are a SCR Resident. Because of the SCR Foundation’s committed support for Del Oro, residents will now receive an easier and quicker path to needed services.
We are also partnering with Meals on Wheels and Placer Rides; both managed by Senior’s First. Those will be discussed further in the April Courier. The Home and Health Fair is March 17. SCR Foundation is hosting a table. Board members will be joined by staff from each of the new programs. Come by our table to say Hi and get questions answered about these new Resources. If you know a neighbor that can’t come down, please consider picking up information for them.
