As we get ready to embark on the last quarter of 2025 we have mixed emotions. The third quarter of the year brought about some great projects that the Foundation has funded. Shade sails for the pool area, another AED for away sports games and a Portable Stage. Del Oro Caregiver Relief and Meals on Wheels have been up and running smoothly. Home Maintenance still remains our flagship project.
Fall brings changes in the weather as well as changes to the Foundation Board. We would like to thank three of the outgoing Board Members, Doug Smoot, Chair and Home Maintenance Director, Elizabeth Gustafson, Assistant Treasurer and Steve Butkovich, Website Development for the contributions they have given the Foundation over the last six years. We wish you all the best in your next endeavors. They will be sorely missed. On that note, we’d like to welcome two new board members, Judy Webster and Jack Porter as well as Kathi Stropkai, is moving into the Foundation Chair position.
The big Fundraiser of the year is coming up. Mark your Calendar. Whack a Ball or Ride a Horse! October 16, 2025 Join us for an evening of Night Golf or Horse Racing at Sierra Pines. Dinner served at 5:30 pm. Night Golf or Horse Racing 6:30, followed by dessert and payouts.
$75.00/pp ticket prices include: Dinner (catered by Backyard BBQ), two drink tickets and one 50/50 raffle ticket.
We’ll transform the Sierra Pines into a par three course and the Sierra Pines Clubhouse into a race track. The course will have lighted tee’s, fairways, greens, cups and flags. We can have up to 72 players, no handicaps or mulligans and all carts must be lit. Payouts to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Men’s, Women’s and Mixed foursomes. Two holes will have beer, wine as well as raffle tickets. They can be bought at $2.00/drink ticket or $1.00/raffle ticket.
Horse Racers will be able to form a group, buy a horse, pick a jockey and bet on the races. Payouts for Win 1st, Place 2nd and Show 3rd for each race, as well as an Overall winner for the owners. During the evening, we will also be selling 50/50 raffle tickets. So be sure to bring your money.
Tickets will go on sale at Courier Days September 1st and October 1st so watch for posters, flyers and eblasts. We look forward to a fun filled Fundraiser and great things to come in 2026.
