Foundation History
SCR Foundation began in 1995 with a $2,500 donation from the Del Webb Foundation. In 1997, it awarded its first grant to the Sunshine Committee for two lightweight wheelchairs. Since then, donations, events, and responsible stewardship have enabled the Foundation to provide critical services and enhancements for residents.
Strategic Plan
The Strategic Plan outlines SCR Foundation’s fundraising efforts, services, and long-term financial goals. It ensures that we remain focused on our mission while maintaining financial stability. To ensure that the SCR Foundation remains continually positioned to meet its goals, funds are set aside in a Capital Reserve Account and may be used when fundraising efforts fall short. Annual Goals:
- Maintain a strong reputation
- Raise funds to meet annual needs
- Continue core programs like Home Maintenance and the Speaker Series
- Support SCRCA’s Sunshine Services
- Host well-attended fundraising events
- Expand or enhance programs as needed
- Contribute to community capital projects
- Ensure spending benefits residents directly

Association (SCRCA)
SCR Foundation partners with SCRCA staff to share facilities, coordinate activities, avoid overlap, and strengthen services like Bingo, Home Maintenance, and the Golf Tournament.

Increasing Resident Awareness
SCR Foundation promotes its work through monthly articles in local newsletters, flyers at the Lodge, brochures in new resident packets, and biannual presentations to the community. Information is also included in the annual Friends of the Foundation letter.
